What Brunskilt is
Brunskilt is a free service that helps people driving in Norway find the country's brown tourist signs (brunskilt), read descriptions, and share tips. We provide it “as is” and make no warranty that it is fit for any particular purpose.
Using Brunskilt safely
Do not use the app while driving. Pull over to interact with maps, read descriptions or post content. You are responsible for your own safety and for complying with Norwegian traffic law.
Accounts
You must provide a valid email address and keep your password confidential. You are responsible for activity on your account. You can delete your account at any time from the app.
User content
When you submit a rating, comment, tip or route, you keep ownership of it but grant Brunskilt a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to display, reproduce and distribute it in the service. By submitting content you confirm it is yours to share and that it does not infringe anyone's rights.
Please don't post:
- illegal content, hate speech, harassment, or personal attacks;
- misleading or spam content;
- content that infringes copyright or other rights;
- private information about other people;
- commercial solicitation.
We may remove content that breaks these rules and, in serious cases, suspend or delete accounts.
Accuracy of information
Sign descriptions, locations, opening hours and route suggestions are a best-effort summary from public sources (NVDB, OpenStreetMap, Wikimedia) and user contributions. Always double-check before making travel decisions.
Availability
The service is provided on a best-effort basis. We may change or discontinue features at any time.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Brunskilt is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages arising from your use of the service.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Norway. Disputes will be heard in the Norwegian courts, unless mandatory consumer-protection law grants you the right to sue in your home jurisdiction. (Placeholder — confirm with counsel before launch.)
